  2. Pattern Type:Polka Dot

Polka dots became common on clothing in the late nineteenth century in the United Kingdom.Polka dot is a pattern consisting of an array of filled circles. Early instances were generally equally sized and spaced relatively closely in relation to their diameters. Many modern prints include more randomly spaced, sized and colored dots. Polka dots are most commonly seen on children's clothing, toys, and furniture, but they appear in a wide array of contexts. The pattern rarely appears in formal contexts, however, and is generally confined to more playful attire such as bathing suits and lingerie. Occasionally, white-on-black small dots appear on more formal clothing. I bought a piece of polka dot blouse recently. I wore it to meet with some women professionals last week.  This polka dot button up blouse is quickly become one of my favorite and most used pieces.  It's so easy to wear it casually or dress it up!  I also like that the dots on the one I'm wearing aren't perfect little polka dots.  This shirt has similar dots and describes them as "scratched" dots.  Regardless of whether they're scratched or normal I also love how the dotted pattern gives it some interest to set it apart from a plain white button-up but that it's still subtle. I'm not goanna tell you that everyone needs one of these babies, but I will say that I recommend them for their versatility!
